Actually that's his old bike, he's been riding a crf150rb. It's a 4stroke & has a much smother power band, also it's a big wheel model. So it fits him better & is easier to ride, still just as fast with more bottom end. :roost:

I emailed this guy and he got right back to me saying the bike is in excellent condition, was apparently plated at one time, has signals and he has a title signed by a previous owner. I am not sure I want to get into dealing with the title like that and I am still on the fence about risking my remanufactured ankle to kicking it.

But this looks like a good candidate for plating a great dirt bike.

If the title was signed but not dated, there's nothing to worry about. The race SV in my garage still has the Idaho title from the guy I bought it from in 2004. Signed, not dated. If I ever put it on the road, I'll date it and bring it to the DMV. If I sell it instead, I'll just hand them the signed title and let them date it when/if they want.

But IMO that's a lot for a 2001. I paid $3300 (iirc) for a 2005 1.5y ago that had a MCY (street) title. I'd make sure that bike's title is definitely for street or it's not worth it unless you talk him down at least another $500. At least that bike already has the big natural plastic tank.

I agree about the price. BTW, another plated EXC300 just showed up on my Baltimore search. It is a 99 and actually has a MD plate on it for $1900. Too hard to post a link from my cheap tablet. But I think kicking that much bike is too risky for me so I am going to pass on the kickstart 300's. My surgeries hurt to badly to fool around.

Hah, got this thing to paste for once:

Fwiw, my 300exc is a dream to kick start. But I haven't had knee surgery so my opinion doesn't matter.
