Street Ride - Sunday Sept. 5th

Post by CapoGreg »

I know this is short notice, but I'm planning on doing a street ride this coming Sunday, Sept 5th. The loop will take us up through southern PA along the Susquehanna River. Any type of bike is welcome, the roads are all paved and in good shape(at least in good shape for Pennsylvania roads). I have a few other potential riders going and we will probably meet at the WaWa at the intersection of Rt. 1 and Rt. 136 in Dublin between 10:30 and 11:00.

If anybody wants to go, check in here and I'll send you my phone number so you can call in case you're running behind. The route is about 100 mile loop from the WaWa and back and should take 3-3.5 hours depending on stops. The traffic around there is usually pretty light, as is the police presence in case you're overcome by hooliganism.

Let me know the next weekend you will be home. I never get tired of riding in York & Lancaster counties. It's as good as the mountains, but never more than 1.5 hours from home.

Will do. Typically I am home every other weekend but I am about to change schedules so it will be a little sketchy for a while. That and all the rides planned for the next several weekends.

DAMN that was fun. 4 of us on 2 bikes, Melissa and I on the Caponord and my buddy Pete with his woman on a Honda CBR954. I have a few pics and some video that I'll edit together later.

I'll probably do the same thing again in 2 weeks if anybody is interested.

Here's a short video I put together of the ride. It only shows a small portion because I left the camera in 1080p mode instead of switching to a lower resolution, which filled up my memory card pretty quick. Next time I'll set the camera up right and try to get some more stills. I have to upload them to SmugMug, then I put them on here too.

Nice video Greg. My self, dan, dawn and my dad were up there riding also. We got out early our we would have joined you guys. Started up rt 1 to 272 then up toward normwood bridge. Ended up on river rd up to Columbia over to shanks mare. That place is great. Back out to 425 to 74. Stoped at Delta family resteraunt for some good food. Down to 136 to the wawa at rt 1. We all slip there and headed for home. Od
showed 187 miles by time I got home and man the seat on the ktm just isn't made for that kind of miles.

I thought that was you guys that were going the other way on River Road. There are a couple gravel roads up there I want to try out once I get a real dual-sport. I just don't want to risk tearing up my baby.
