I was thinking about riding shade mountain again sometime soon. I was there a couple weeks ago and want to go back with somebody who knows their way around. I could make it black friday or even this saturday.

Tell me about Shade Mtn.

Number of trails? Rocky? Hills? Length? Compared to GR loop.

I friggin hate rocks, like the top of lower loop at GR :screwy:

Thinking about it.
Never been and it's like and hour or so north.

After looking into it more, I think GR is probably still where I'll be on Friday. I was reading up about Shade Mtn and (correct me if I'm wrong) it sounds a bit too technical for some beginners. My brothers-in-law have never ridden off-road before so something easy like GR will be a good starting point. As much as I want to get out and do some trails/rocks/jumps/logs/etc., I am catering to them next week and if they hit any of those, we're in trouble (but it would make for a good video). :whoop:

I've never ridden GR, but from what I hear you can do laps there because its not very long and some sections are fast...correct? Shade is not that way. You could ride all day and not do the same section twice. It is rocky and technical...a very good workout for this fat old man. There's one difficult, rocky loop that we do first because of how it'll fatigue you. Some of the single track that's up on top is less rocky, but still technical. Shade is a 3-hour drive for me and I'll go every chance that I get.

Sounds good, but I hate rocks, I have a crappy bike and my son on his KX 80 also hates rocks. :lol2:

Maybe we'll hit GR if some folks are going.
