Here are a couple of photos, some from my pre ride the day before.

This is always a good spot for my first stop to smell the roses:

Looking west:

I think that is an oriole sitting on the middle fence post:

I tried to add some excitement to the ride by adding some new sections. This is what I found after a wet, rocky, pot holed climb:

he wasn't about to acknowledge me:

His friends:

I stopped to make sure this wouldn't fall down before crossing it. Next day I ripped across it without cautioning the others in any way. None flinched that I could tell:

Looking off either side:

It is always fun to find your self on the wrong side of a closed gate:

This is what it said on the other side:

This water crossing was right next to the gate. Next time. And Kyler goes first. :deal:

Great views from this location at the dead end of a nice side road. The electricity was buzzing and snapping so loud I could hardly think. I was going to make this a spot for a nature call, but I kept thinking about that song "Don't Wizz On the Electric Fence".

Next day, the crew is convening in my driveway:

2/3 of the way up the fire tower:

By the way, a bear crossed in front of me on the road to the fire tower. I tried to point it out as it thrashed its way through the woods. Of course, no one had a clue what I was trying to point at. :lol2: We saw quite a bit of wild life and some domestic too; a large red fox, several hawks, a couple of snakes, a few deer, tons of chip monks and butterflies, dogs, a feral cat or 3, and I am sure a wild turkey or two.

The 26th is doable.

Darwin, are you out for the entire 4th of July weekend or just Monday the 4th?

WHAT! :dirtdog:

You aren't going to be glued to the TV/Radio watching/listening to the 89th running of the Race to the Clouds?

Waiting with baited breathe for any and every tidbit about your sidecar racing idols and their first (and likely last) quest for the summit? :amazon:
