I have the dualsport bike for this. The question is which wheelset do I run?
At the moment my 17"/motard set has some very unmotard like TKC80s which are probably about perfect for this. Hopefully they will last till September. I was planning on putting some Conti sumo rubber on when they are worn out.

My other wheelset is more offroady and I hate to wear them down with road riding.
Moved to "IN"!

TKC80's (even bald ones) will be a great choice, I used to run a lot of those. I am currently running the Pirelli XCMH but the Honda likes eating through em in just a thousand miles.

:lol2: You guys....hotels and bars...is this an adventure ride or a Cruzer ride.
Dispersed camping is permitted in most areas of the ANF.

And....free camping in all PA state forests.

Just saying....

The title said "Dual-Sport" ride. "Adventure" is what happens along the way. I think you have been hanging out on ADV too much... :killingme:

You (and anybody else who is interested) are welcome to do all the camping your hearts desire; its your trip too so make it what you want. For me, after a good hot meal that someone else made for me, and a few beers; a hot shower and soft bed at a motel is what is planned.

I will be heading up to the ANF on the 18th of Sept. I will be pre-riding Sunday's event on Saturday plus doing a joy ride. I am inviting anyone who would like to join me on Saturday the 19th. Sunday is limited to 40 riders and that is the total for the two groups. We are having the day on the trail to demonstrate to the DCNR that ATVs and Dirt Bikes can share without conflict. The cost is free but each rider will need a trail pass. We are starting from the Rangers Station and passes can be purchased the day of the event. After our sit down session we will go to the trail head and ride in two separate groups to a remote lunch and discussion. Lunch will be free as well and after lunch is over we will trail ride back to the cars. We will show everyone highlights of the system as well as the quality of trail maintenance. The ride will be 30 miles in length and will last until 2:00. After that I plan on riding until Supper time. At the end I have the official agenda for Sunday at the Trail Summit. If anyone would like to join me on Monday or Tuesday you are welcome to do so.

This is a great place to ride in Pennsylvania and plenty of dirt roads connect the 4 riding areas. My favorite place to stay is Westline Inn.

Denny,

Thanks for the info. From what I am understanding, your ride is all on the trails? Would your ride on Saturday be doable\ fun for guys on big adventure bikes? For the guys on the smaller DS bikes I am planning on doing the Mariensville bike loop so the bigger bike guys will want an alternative for this day.

For those interested, this should give you an example of what to expect on the bike loop. The harder\rocky part starts around 1:15
or this

And here is an example of the Timberline side; much easier. I would take my Tiger on it if I had a 50/50 tire and did not own the Honda:

I'm still on the fence for this one. I sort of want to do the ADV Moto Rally because it's in my back yard and I won't be away from home more than a day so my wife will be happier, but this DS event sounds far more fun. I will be using my KLR, but I have some new Kenda K760's for it that I can use on this ride. I will need a big bike go-around for those trails though.

Sunday and Saturday in the morning will be the same Timberline trails because for the event on Sunday I plan on making it fun for everyone. After the work is done pre-riding Sunday's even route I'm up for anything.

No Marienville Bike Loop is not big bike friendly at all.
