DAMN Riders - No rules, Just ride!

Had a little rain the last few miles of the day. Still such great scenery.

That night’s accomadations were almost too nice for a group of dirtbike riders. Was large house, a family cooked dinner was maybe best of moto trip.
That night I roomed with Martin, the oldest guy of trip at 73-74.

More great riding

Im not sure if this was a planned route or if we were doing a little “exploring”. It proved pretty difficult for most of the guys. Steep, muddy, slick/flat rocks

This was the upper part of the same climb. I had to help push a lot of these guys.

Youngest guy of trip, Max. He lives in Switzerland where there are no opportunities to ride offroad. This trip was a baptism by fire (or mud and rocks). He did great and leveled up several times by end of trip.

Part of our ride went thru a Parque Nacional. There were lots of people picking mushrooms. I got the chance to speak to one of the guys. He let me take a pic of his mushroom basket. I was speaking to him in Spanish and asking questions about the mushrooms (my other wife loves mushrooms and foraging). He told me that many people end up selling then to restaurants in France for decent money. (Sorry, Im very bad with quick numbers in Spanish. But he seemed very pleased with the euros per kilo he said.) I asked him what kind of mushrooms they were and he rattled off the names in Spanish (which didnt mean much to me). I asked him if he knew the names in English. He thought for a second and said “setas salvajes”. Which translates to “wild mushrooms”.

Every day we’d stop and buy supplies for a picnic lunch. Bread, cheese, meat, peppers, lettuce, etc…

We’d distribute the supplies through out the group, so everyone would help carry something. I always had a knife handy so Id help prep lunch with slicing up bread rolls/bagettes, veggies etc…. Then we’d all make our own sandwiches.
