Sounds like everyone had a blast. Sorry I missed it. After several canceled flights and broken planes I finally did make it home from Mississippi at 2:30 Saturday morning, but didn't have the energy (or mindset) to even think about getting my stuff together and heading back out the door in the rain.
Steve called me from the top of the Dolly Sods. I've been telling him I was going down there to ride for a year now, so he had to call and rub it in. He told me of finding some nice cabins, which I'm sure was a pleasure after all the rain on the way down.
I still want to do this run (minus the locked gate part) sometime in the near future, so it sounds like there could be a round two for all the wannabes that didn't make round one!
I'll have to compare notes on what portions were asking too much for the V-Stroms. But since some of you fared well with Trailwings and such I'm sure that my current TKC's would have done fine....

It's in in the pics that code took of everyone in the middle of the woods..mdubya wrote:What road was that?hondahawkrider wrote:see sig file
It starts off as Little Dry River that turns into hall spring...
good a google map to Fulks Run in VA about maybe 20 or so miles west of New Market VA where 211 ends .. Look for it just west of Fulks run.. It's maybe a 1/4 past hopkins gap... At the top of the mountain I would turn right onto rough run to avoid the questionable goat path part..

Thanks to all you DAMN guys. I had a great time.
By the time logic set in, and I realized after about 50 panic attacks that I was PRECISELY where I didn't want to go (in the mud) on
90/10 tires with over 5K of rubber missing, I relaxed and owned the rest of 7767. It's great to be pulled bodily out of your comfort zone from time to time! Thanks Jason
Next time I'll want WAY more aggressive tires, some better protection for me and my bike, and I need to loose about 50LBS off my carcass.
It was great to meet you all.
Accident:My gear was on fire this morning. I pulled over, ripped it off the bike, stomped it out, and decided it was a total loss so I got back on the bike and rode on.
Me: DAMN, that sucks. Did you do this fire puttin out on 70 just short of 32?
Accident: Uh .. YEH!!
Me:
So that was your fire I passed?
Accident: Must have been!
I didn't think anyone would believe me when I said there was a flaming fire on the side of 70 just as a rain storm was ending. But me and Accident were witnesses to each others story.
I wish I would have had me camera available on 777. Like an idiot, i packed it deep.
Thank again.
Jax

My friend asked me if I was going to wash my bike, and I said OH hell no. I earned every bit of that dirt. Strangely proud I took about 20 photos of it.

I think we need an annual 777 campout/ride.
