This is another campground near smokehole 38.891807° -79.238775°

It's on the river and is pretty sweet but expensive (for a campground)

That is Big Bend Campgound - I gave the link to it in an earlier post - you can get reservations there

:target: what's the group opinion on "Significant Others" with aversions to pillion seats who drive to the camp site with additional refreshments? :eats: :freakey:

Either way, late August works for me and Bike-camping :kumbaya: makes a much better DS trip than the Trailer-loading :nono: DS events. Count me in

Ok that makes more sense... I am not going to update the map the moment - I will do it later... but if you looks that the last marker just above Upper Tract, Wv - where it says Spruce Knob Sececa Rocks National Recreation Area - the camp group is basically where "Area" .. I just picked a main intersection nearest the campground...

am curious about the route posted....are we getting tele-ported to 33 / 220 from kens? Me thinks jason left a few miles out of his route unless he's got something nifty he's not telling the rest of us about. :ride:

The first waypoint I gave is a fire ring on the side of the road that is free. The other one is as you said big bend campground.

Ok.. it's the not the best route to Brandywine/Franklin - but here a fairly direct route that doesn't include major highway - it's got a few jaunts down 7 and 340 - but no serious interstate

it's about 4 hours from the Point of Rocks.. It might be better to hammer down 340 depending upon where folks are coming from - I use for allot of rides. So it should be Point of Rocks at 8AM - to get to Wv to still get some good roads in down there..

I'd have to say this ride is looking pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure I'm working that weekend, but hopefully I'll be able to take some leave.

Hey Stevens, unless some people pm'd you, I don't think anybody answered your question about your wife showing up at the camp site. I don't think anyone cares. If she is willing to bring a large cooler of cold beverages, everyone will probably be happy to see her.
