Registration ain't open yet, so commitment won't be necessary until late November or early December.

Looks like I can make that cookout, I get off work at 4. :eats: :freakey:

Also, the money saved on that entry fee can buy a LOT of beer. Or shots. Or both.

Early Registration opens Nov 28th. We must notify them who will be claiming the 50% off finders fee for bringing 2 new riders - so don't register until we've worked out the details!

Early registration for bikes is $260 so we should try to work this so we split the $130 3-ways for a reduction of ~$43 each.
"Two Buddy Discount": To encourage new people to enter the sport, any entrant that "brings"
two entrants that have never run Sandblast to the rally will receive a 50% discount off their entry.
Restrictions:
• This discount is only 50% of an early entry amount, regardless of when you enter.
• The discount applies only to the "finder".
• Car entrants cannot find two bike entrants. Recruited entries must be of like kind.
• This is a refund given at registration, all entrants pay the normal amount up front.
• The person/team claiming the discount must contact the organizer, before the new teams
register, to document their connection.

that's pretty sweet. can phil apply to this though or were you leaning towards skierd and myself for this? the only thing that is holding me back from a definite yes is the bike being done and now trying to get down there for fri (with the time off crap). to complete the class before hand. just curious if it could apply to him as well as a just in case. not that I'm going to let that happen if i have my way :lol2:

i know we haven't really talked about it either, but and some of it is pretty obvious. but i have been mostly street pre-strom and still all my gear is "street" for the most part. i was looking at back and neck braces, etc. so if anyone has any recommendations for any of that kind of gear and where to buy, let me know. i've gotta start putting that stuff together rather then piling it up last min.

thanks!

If we have 6 DAMN riders going, then we split up in teams of 3 and share the bounty.

Known entries are:
Skierd
Kyler
Bucho

If you decide to race and we don't find 2 others then we can find divvy up and find a sponsor who wants a discount.

I'd prefer to field 2 DAMN Teams - called...

The DAMN Fast Team :roost:
- Bucho
- Skierd
- Code

The DAMN Slow Team! :harhar:
- Kyler
- ???
- ???

I'm probably the most AGATT guy here - so factor that accordingly.

I picked up a used Leatt carbon Fiber neck brace for $250. My flip over the bars in NJ at last year's PB300 and again at Green Ridge (followed by a concussion) made this a must have. I have the Acerbis Koerta Pressure Suit which gives a lot more protection than a roost deflector. I wear knee braces (mainly due to the torn ACL but in hind site, I think they are a must to prevent injury). Lastly I have some impact shorts - got a huge hematoma last year.

I'm debating getting a Scott's damper for the KTM - depends on how the cash flow goes for the rest of the year.

thanks ken! that's what i was looking for exactly as far as what would you do. the scott's i think is more of a bike "upgrade" than anything. surely i know from the strom and on other bikes how that works and how it improves the handling and possible tank slappers amongst other things. maybe down the road though. not the cheapest piece. out of curiousity since you brought that up though. had you thought about getting the version where you can easily switch it from the ktm to the klr if need be? i've seen several versions, including the on road version vs. the off road and do not completely get the difference..both sound like they pretty much improve on the same......then again that's probably because i haven't really seen the effects like you off road yet that it could improve.

wow - a Scotts on a KLR :jack: is that an oxymoron?

Seriously - that might not be a bad idea - I do occasionally ride it in sand. :brows:

I got a 661 pressure suit off the flea market on ADV for like $50. Right now Atomic Moto has them on sale for like $100 I think. I have regular EVS knee guards, Alpinestars Tech 6 boots, and a variety of gloves to choose from. My Klim baja's have hip armor in them (that I've upgraded), and the Klim Chinooks I'm ordering soon do as well. Haven't quite decided on layers over the pressure suit yet, probably an enduro jacket of some sort. I know I wont be able to afford a damper by them unfortunately, but I am contemplating some suspension work.

You sure I should be on the fast team? :harhar:
