Ive long given up caring if people are camping or "glamping".
Ive roughed it plenty in the past, I dont see any need to prove anything anymore. Not saying I would never camp off the bike anymore but Im happy to sleep in my dry van. Or stay in a cheap motel whatever...
Im very much looking forward to this one. (Somehow whatever ride is coming up causes me to always feel that way.)

I got some shit for trailering my street bike to meet up with friends in TN, but after 2 trips home with 14 hours of "cow pissing on a flat rock," I decided that I didn't care what folks thought. I've proven to myself that I can fight through whatever conditions are present; I don't need to do it anymore. Besides, when it's cold and rainy, and you're driving up 81, there are few things better than turning the heat up a notch, easing the seat back a tad, and putting some good music on the radio.Bucho wrote: Sun May 07, 2017 9:27 pm Ive long given up caring if people are camping or "glamping".

I do have a travel trailer, but that's for family trips
I did 20 years in the Infantry, I lived out of rucksack for a looong time. I'm over 50 now and appreciate beds and roofs
I will happily set up a cot under a ez up or in the back of my truck like always.

Gees guys, it was all in good fun. I'm sure if it starts pouring rain I'll be the first one knocking on the door with my tail between my legs.
On another note; after the weekend at Granville, I realized I just planned food for myself but it seemed everyone kinda shared and pot luck styled it. Is that how you guys usually do meals?

I don't mind roughing it at all. I don't have to have an indoor pool and a hot tub at the hotel every trip.

Looks like I'm free for this weekend. Never been to this riding area so that should be fun.

Meals just kinda come together. I'm bringing a stock pot of chili for one and all. Bring what you want, share what you want. Re: DAMN Reunion 19-21 May 2017
I finally got the beta all put together yesterday. I've still got a sore thumb but nothing I can do about that. Here's hoping I can give the bike a quick run down ride this sunday or there could be some funny moments at the reunion. I'm at least certain I've tightened the stem and front axle bolts... I've got to say I really prefer the good ole screw on method for securing the air filter. I just don't feel comfortable with a bracket latching on to a hook. It's just too easy.
