Will pm ya my addy in sykesville, md if you want to meet up to ride out to Kens. My guess is that is where the actual start point is. Still checking the schedule to see if I'm completely in thoough.....out in ohio now..heading home tomorrow. So I'll have a better idea come monday.

Color me corfused. It's Middletown, then? That's two by slab from me, depending on the beltway. Wherever it is, just send me a time and place. I'll just have to get out of here early is all. Wish I lived out in God's country, but instead I live here in tax free Dull-Aware.

I believe for those riding, that the meeting place is Point of Rocks. For those hauling the bikes and need a spot to leave their truck, they can park at my house.

more info to come :deal:

On the second page of this thread, I find some discussion of Point of Rocks and 8 a.m. I find a Point of Rocks park off Rt 15 south of Frederick. I would have to leave early and hammer to slab my way there by eight.

HondaHawkRider (Jason) is putting together the route. He'll post a GPS file I believe - regardless, more instructions will be forthcoming. :ride:

Couple of things...

1. Reservations - I haven't made any.. Since I m doing the route- I will let someone else do that ... takers .. bueller bueller...

2. GPS Route.. I am working on it - but I ran into a snag.. My travel laptop has taken a crap... I have replaced but am current searching for the media and updates.. At worst I have maps of the area - if anyone wants access to my google maps or wants the google earth files to make one - PM me and I will send em... I will have copies

3. Departure Time.. We really need to leave from the Point of Rocks by 8 - taking a relatively straight path by slab it's still an easy 2.5 hour ride down to Wva.. The route down there is the best I could come up with that has back roads that won't add too much time - but are still fun to ride..

4. I am going to the Point of Rocks via abbreviated normal back route from Columbia... If folks don't need to be at Ken's to unload you are more than willing to tag allong.. Easy place to get to and to pick up folks is at Sunshine, MD (where New Hamshire and Georgia Ave meet - This way you don't have to take I70 all the way to Frederick and take 15 down). From Sunshine go west on 650 108/27/80/85/28 to the point of rocks if that is what time allows - if folks want a slightly earlier start - we can bypass the 27N to 80W bet and hit some better back/dirt roads including prices distillery with the water crossing - etc.. It's going to depend on interest and time.. If any event - I plan on hitting these roads on the way home on Sun when things aren't time sensitive... Paging Code to the while curtesy phone :ride:

5. Folks who are coming - I pulled the following from the post :

Hondahawkrider - xr650l
Kyler - KLR650
Steven - KTM 640

who else is a definate so far and what'cha bringin

6. Extras.. I know everyone brings extra stuff with em - it might be nice to know what folks are bringing for the just in case

Hondahawkrider - comapctaircompressor, offroad tool kit w / tire irons, and hopefully new tubes (at worst some old ones that would get me home).

Jason.....send me the google maps and I'll put together the gps version of the ride for you. No problem. Also, as far as a pre-ride before the actual ride, if we need to leave point of rocks by 8, I'm really not too sure that I'll be hitting dirt/gravel before hand. Will pretty much be a grab my crap and go deal for me to get out at 8 as is.
I can map some decent stuff in for those that want to do the pre-ride deal starting from sunshine heading over though.

As of now, I'm in..however, that's if I can switch out my chain with a new one before hand. Had a lot of trouble going out to ohio and back with the piece of crap that's on it. If it rains...I may just take the more paved route out myself as oppose to lugging along in the wet mud, etc. since I would be taking the strom (which doesn't handle mud too great at any speed to make headway..very tempting if that's the case to just suck it up and take the xt though). So unless you guys don't care about the 10mph ride in the rain following a beastly strom in the rain...... :lol2:. I believe Mica is in too..he just picked up a dr400.
