I have gone back and reread this thread multiple times. Not that I want to skip all the awesome riding we will have between now and then... But June can't come soon enough. So psyched for this!

7 hour drive from my house. Works for me.
Im not sure where SJ wanted to start from. He is pretty good at the logists of a major ride. Lets let him weigh in on the matter before we start making hotel reservations.

I figured I'd just throw out a suggestion. I have read through a few ride reports cause I am anxiously waiting for June.

Yeah, Lil Abners is a good option. The benefit is it puts us right into the best\hardest parts of the ride right on day one while we are fresh. The downside is that it is on the western most part of the loop which will add drive time in the truck to both get there and back.
I am flexible but my current though was to leave out of Matewan, WV. This shortens the drive in the trucks. We have stayed at the Hatefield McCoy Inn before and it has a big parking lot out back (where the ADV Stolen Pig Rally happens). Wingo's bar and grill is also on site and the owners are very nice. I have been noodling about calling and chatting with them but was going to wait until after the Stolen Pig rally was over at the end of the month as I am sure they are busy with that....
