FS: 2013 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4wd, $5k

Post by phoo »

Those who have seen me in the past four years have probably seen this truck. It's a great truck. Mechanically sound. I'm only replacing it because it has developed body rust over the rear wheels and under the rear passenger doors and my vanity prevents me from ignoring it. People selling the same truck, same year and mileage on FB Marketplace is asking $8k or more. I'll sell it to people here for $5k if you get it out of my driveway this week.

'm offering this truck for the no/pre-haggled, get it out of my driveway price of $5k. It's a solid truck. Engine was essentially replaced 40k miles ago (see receipt in photos; "replace long block" means both the top and the bottom end, among other things).

Pluses: quad cab is super comfy for family of four plus full size dog for long drives. We take this instead of the crossover SUV because it's so comfortable. Heated front seats and steering wheel. Electric rear window so you can operate it from the driver seat. Storage bins under the 60/40 split rear bench and smugglers nooks under the rear passenger floor mats. Two, yes, two glove boxes. Cavernous center console and the lid flips open to another large (but not deep) storage bin. Bluetooth, electric windows, electric door locks, and remote start. Tint on all four windows and rear window. Backup camera with parking lines. Spray on bedliner. Seats are in good condition; the covers are just to improve the color scheme and protect the seats from the kids and the dog.

Minuses: bed over wheel wells and under the passenger doors of the cab have developed rust spots. This is cosmetic, not structural. The frame is solid. But for me, even as a truck that I only use for "truck things" (and long drives with the family), I can't deal with it. This is priced at $5k so to you, you won't care because it was so cheap. Engine is solid. As mentioned a moment ago, frame is solid. I expect this truck will last a long time, despite the mileage, which is 210k. No squeaks, creaks, or rattles despite the mileage. Did I mention I only want $5k from friends? Also, it needs all four tires and three sets of brakes (I replaced the driver side front pads and rotors in August because a caliper froze. Other brakes are wearing normally, but have simply reached the time for replacement soon). Price reflects these repairs.

Please excuse the truck for being dirty in the photos. It'll be cleaned fully before pickup. I just wanted to get this out there now. I'll be listing it for $7k after the holidays, though trucks with the same year and mileage are currently asking $8k or more. Please get this out of my driveway! 🙂

(Note the tonneau cover does not go with the truck.)

^^ Seat covers are just to make it look nice and improve the color scheme and also to protect the seats from children, dog, and general wear. But otherwise the seats are fine and not ripped.

If I had a shop built, I might consider buying this and fixing the rockers and bed fenders. At that price, it is worthwhile.
