I'm guessing the "chicken scratch" is the roll chart. If you don't have a roll chart holder go to JT's and tell them you are a DAMN rider and they will hook you up with one at a discount. I'll print out several copies and help you with installing the roll chart in your holder. We generally meet in the parking lot at Big Flat before the ride starts. The slower guys can hang back and let the racers go first, not that its a race......Gene-TW200 wrote:Well I got my MORE packet !! Now where is the GPX file ? what do I do with that page of chicken scratch stuff ? This is gonna be fun but who decided on a 7am start time ? Where are the slow guys meeting and when ?

Not a Race !! who was that guy that said that ??
I'm planning to try for a 6:45 arrival. I will try to swing by for a roll chart if not it will be in the tank bag window .

Oh well! I'll get to ride good stuff that day regardless!
I think this scheduling is a great boon for us average guys. All you fast enduro guys will be at the race and the rest of us can ride without being concerned about being run over.
That is exactly what I need.I signed up for it too. this will be only my 2nd dual sport ride.
If anyone is questioning going to Michaux , GO! even with it filled up there will be enough no shows to get in. The MORE guys and girl hold a great event, tell them that and how much you love coming to ride it. If this goes away it will never be back.
Now that being said, you guys got the totally wrong idea about enduros, there are not guys passing you, there is no way they can when you sign up on a late row and no one is behind you. These aren't laps its one big loop that noone ride twice, the fast guys are up front, even if your fast you couldnt catch them.
The tough part of the enduros is that the trails are more intensive, Jersey sand whoop , PA rocky sections, you just cant sit on your seat like a road ride, it forces you to actively move around on the bike to make it do things, move forwards back, even stand up sometimes and god forbid turn the handlebars. After a day of this you are tired, just like a DS, but went 60 miles with 40+ being woods. Enduro are much slower speeds overall, and safer. Even if a fast guy signed up late he wont want to mess with you cause it will hurt his score or worse.
If anyone wants to get good at woods riding, enduros are the best way to do so. After one year of trying hard i promise you will be a compentent confident woods rider and much faster than the average joe.
So you know, it was not an easy decision for me as the GMER event sounds REALLY cool! However, rumor has it this is the second to last of the Michaux events unless someone else steps up to take over the planning which I don't see happening. I have only ran one enduro in my life and I completely ignored the time keeping thing and enjoyed it as a fun trail ride. I am not into racing so the hare scramble thing is out, but based on your description above I am looking forward to running some more enduros in the future. Maybe next year there won't be a conflict with the dates and we ALL can do BOTH!!
Thanks
Jay

Hey Guys,
I really wanted to ride the Green Marble, but it snuck up on me and I didnt sign up and my usual riding bud is out of town. The Michaux is so close to home and I have never riden it before I think I will give it a try. I just emailed someone and she said she could fit me in. There is a guy here from work going so I am thinking about riding with him. I have one question......is there enough single track that I wont feel like its a road ride? Thanks guys, maybe ill see you there!

I signed up a couple of weeks ago and just got my MORE email today with map etc.
I'll be rolling into the staging area Sunday morning... I only live about 20 mins away and ride the Michaux quad trails all the time... this will be the first time being able to take my dirtbike off the fireroads... legally anyway.
I see you guys out there bright and early.
I'll have my DRZ along, so I won't be the fastest of the bunch, but I do like to attept the challenging stuff, even though I spend more time picking the bike up than actually riding it.
