Had a SUPER time and got to see lots of DAMN folks. Skinny-J escorted me all day so I didn't get any "bonus miles" He is SIGNIFICANTLY quicker on the WR450 he had today than on the XR650 he rode on the BRT
I flatted my front tire about half way through the morning so put the KTM on the trailer at noon and rode the WR250R (that I had on the BRT) in the PM and there was NO WAY I was going to be able to hang with J on his WR450 on the WR250R.
BUT the WR250R did pretty well. It is VERY different than the KTM. The Yamaha is more like a tank. You can't manuver all that mass around the rocks so you just gas it and hold on and it usually just uses all the mass to keep ploughing right through/over all the bad stuff.

Sam,
My hat is off to you Sir! Not only did we ride the entire course; but we did EVERY single option as well (and that last one at the end of the day was a real ball buster). Unfortunately, I can't same the same for some of my younger riding companions; apparently I need to look for some more OLDER guys to ride with!!!
It was a great time and I enjoyed seeing every one. Hopefully this long running event will not end as threatened as this is definitely one of my favorites!

I'll trade with your younger friends next year. They can take the new guys and us old guys can stick together.
