MY BAD! Sorry to get us off track and that I was NOT fully informed. Jay is - as he almost always is  correct!

After a little research I think it is accurate to say that the AMA:

- Encourages voluntary helmet use

- Does not have a campaign to repeal existing helmet laws

- Does fight any measures that would directly or indirectly lead to any expansion of existing helmet laws

The AMA opposition to helmet laws is similar to Winfixer's in that it doesn't think the gov. should be telling folks what to do.

SORRY - I'll go back into my hole :tape:

BTW, Bill Menges, who is organizing this ride, is a member of the DNR ORV Stakeholder's Group with me. Bill is a good guy and I encourage you to support the ride if you are so inclined. I suspect Bill won't prevent you from riding if you are not an AMA member.

Anyone planning on doing this ride? I was thinking about it, if my Yamaha hasn't been taken apart. I'd imagine my KTM would be a terrible bike for this. I may even get my DS wheels onto the bike.
