Had a great ride today. New guy Buzz did great riding on crappy stock XT250 tires. We did some offroad and single track riding/practice. Then rode over to nearby Michaux and ran a loop.
We missed 99% of today’s rain!
Bucho and Laoch made it easy to be the new guy and made it a lot of fun to follow their lead. I went into the day with three goals: to make a few friends, keep up, and not break anything--finished the day with all three accomplished.
I loved riding single track on my Suzuki TS185 back in the early 80s--Laoch and I have that in common. Only back then I spent more time finding places to ride then actually riding. I told Laoch this was the best riding day I've had since the 80s. He replied, "You need to get out and ride more." I look forward to doing that and meeting more of the group.
Bucho--next time I owe you some photos. Your invite made my summer. And your tactful tire scrutiny got me motivated to start looking for some decent off road tires.
Really sorry I missed this and I'm looking forward to cashing in my rain check sometime this fall. I'll definitely be going back up to Bald Eagle/Seven Mountains in late August/early September if anyone is interested. That place has something for everyone.
