I know most people cant do midweek rides but I thought Id put this up anyway.
April 9th, a Wed, 1000am till whenever. I probably need to leave by 1700 but people are usually done before that.
Fun trail ride. Not all my trails are full of log hops, I do have an easier loop.
Please let me know if you plan on attending.
1. Bucho
2. Smdub
3. Colton
Brian Holsonbake should be there with a couple R&T guys.

For the month of April, I'm on a daywork office schedule while I do my Union duties. Mid-week rides are out for me in April.

This part of the trail is pretty off camber and gets uncomfortably close to the cliff

Re: Emmitsburg Ride, April 9th
I have to admit to something stupid...
I charged the spare UltraBee batt the night before.
I made a sandwich and filled the camelback that morning.
Was about time to leave and I went out to the garage w/ the bike leaning up against the wall, not having to been ridden all winter, and wanted to just walk beside it to power it out of the garage and into the van. Turned the key, lights came on but it wouldn't move. Tried all sorts of things - unplugged the battery for 60s, etc. No matter what I did it would not respond to throttle after I hit the 'ready' button. F-me.
I whip out the phone and load the Torp app. It warned me there was a 'critical update' and would only run in read-only mode. Well, I couldn't get to the diagnotics page. It also said the update would reset all parameters and I really didn't want that. I finally succumbed and let it update from 1.8x to 1.10. That took a few minutes. Then to setup the bike again you need the Bluetooth password - written on the sticker on the control and the box it came in. F=me! I don't want to unbolt the control to read it. After a bit of searching on the PC I found where I took a pic of the sticker. Ok, BT password found and entered. That allowed it to go through its auto-tune stage (which includes moving the wheel back and forth a little so I had to lift it on a stand first.) After all that was done, it STILL wouldn't enable. W-T-F? But at least now the app was working and I could go to the diagnostics page... Kickstand sensor. What? I looked over the bike to the other side near the wall and the kickstand was down. F-me sideways. This whole time the kickstand was preventing it from moving. If I had reinstalled the oem dash I prob could have figured this out in seconds (I have KTM forks on the bike and need to make a bracket to reinstall the dash)
So an hour later in the cold garage I had the bike moving again. I was late leaving for Bucho's, cold, and extra pissed off now for being such an idiot. I threw in the towel, went inside and started a log fire to warm my cold toes in front of. All because the bike was leaning against the wall but still had the kickstand down.
I guess at least I have whatever the critical update was installed now. Need to find my paint marker and write the BT password inside the battery lid.

Stephen,
You just convinced me I will NEVER own an electric bike. I had been trying to keep an open mind but I just updated to version fukthat.2; well after remembering my password...

I've kept my Sur-Ron stock except for adding a front fender and a rubber flap behind the shock to keep the mud off of it. Zero problems. I turn it on and it goes.
