Black Hills Trail Riding and BDR Trip

We had a great trip in the Black Hills area of SD. This place was totally off my radar as a nice place to go and ride. But it turns out it was great. Much much more than just Sturgis and Mount Rushmore.

The trails were great. Some were very easy flowing through meadows and some were total ball busters. Steep rocky climbs, rock sections, and crazy slick (we did get a fair amount of rain).

After several days of riding, Matt, Pablo, and I took the truck and visited Wind Caves National Park. I had never heard of it before but it was my favorite park of the trip.

They had several cave tours. Strongly suggest if you ever go.
The Lakota have a legend that they first came into the world from this cave.

This was a good day of riding.

I know it doesnt look it but this was very slick. And just offcamber enough to be sketchy. Jason was actually coming DOWN this (tomward the camera). His front end slipped off the trail. While fighting it, his rear wheel worked all the way around and he was pointed the wrong direction.

I know this doesnt look like much, but this trail defeated us. Just crazy slick. Mud, rocks, hard pack…
We turned back.
