Anyone wanna try this sometime?
This route is a mix of gravel and paved back roads. Open to street legal bikes and vehicles. The GPX tracks will be uploaded to the files section. I advise against creating a turn by turn route,as they tend to reroute you if you diverge from the track. I assure you, that you will regret it. Cell service is spotty to nonexistent. Expect to self rescue, nobody is coming.
This is an adventure travel route that crosses WV. It starts at the Ohio River in Marietta OH and ends at the VA border on US Rt 250. It is currently 403 miles, but will grow as I get time. The intention of this route is to utilize as many public (read “legal”) dirt and gravel roads as possible, while making it enjoyable and big bike and stock suv friendly. It connects with the (Great Ohio Adventure Trail (GOAT) on the Western end and intersects the iMAT
https://www.facebook.com/share/g/sRhRaG ... tid=K35XfP
loops on the Eastern end. It also parallels the TAT and is really close to the MABDR and
Adventure Horizons routes in VA. I will eventually post connector tracks to both the TAT and the VA routes. I will not share the TAT tracks, as Sam sells them and I’m not going to poach them. I will also delete and kick anyone to the curb that does. This will be an evolving process and nothing will be posted that I haven’t personally ridden.

Oh, DAMN. It's a three hour drive from my cabin, four from my house. Clearly would need to trailer to the start, but it looks really cool.

I would take the green to the blue up and around, then from the blue I would cut pavement on 50 to 31 to join the green near the other end to go south and follow green until it met back up with blue. But then you're still super far away from the trailer so it would need further thought to make a full loop out of it. Could be really interesting!

Edit: Oh, I compltely forgot about that yellow section over there. This guy really did put a lot of work into this. Nice of him to share.

I was thinking 2 days to ride the 400 miles. We'd probably need a day to get home from Marietta. I know Marietta pretty well for moto (street) riding based out of the Lafayette Hotel after staying there several times with the SabMag guys. Bridgewater is a fairly short trip from my house (under 2 hours on the Interstate), so getting to the "start" of this trail in WV isn't too difficult.

The most ideal scenario would be to have someone willing to pick us up in Marietta and drive us back. Alternatively, would could plan 4 days total and ride it out and then ride an alternate route back home. Heck, if you could do this route towards Marietta in 2 days, one could plan a mostly paved route home on smaller roads and be home in a day, even.

I can't make it then as I will be in Idaho pounding ST. However, this at least makes me think about buying a dual-sport again. In fact Wingfixer and Junior were talking about a 2027 dual-sport adventure somewhere so maybe this could be our candidate.

I have requested to join the FB group to get the track logs and will be very interested to hear your ride report if you go...

I will be returning from or having just returned from Alaska, so I'll be needing a rest.

Count me in on other DS adventures, whether this or that thing in 2027 or whatever.

I'm planning on riding the 304 Detour on the 18th and 19th of July. After the ride, I'm going to ride down to Ravenswood, WV and grab a hotel on Monday night. From there, I'll take off on the CWVAT Tuesday morning, hoping to complete it in 3 days and riding home Thursday night from the eastern end of it, but I'll have Friday available just in case I need the extra time.
