code wrote:Jason.....send me the google maps and I'll put together the gps version of the ride for you. No problem. Also, as far as a pre-ride before the actual ride, if we need to leave point of rocks by 8, I'm really not too sure that I'll be hitting dirt/gravel before hand. Will pretty much be a grab my crap and go deal for me to get out at 8 as is.
I can map some decent stuff in for those that want to do the pre-ride deal starting from sunshine heading over though.

As of now, I'm in..however, that's if I can switch out my chain with a new one before hand. Had a lot of trouble going out to ohio and back with the piece of crap that's on it. If it rains...I may just take the more paved route out myself as oppose to lugging along in the wet mud, etc. since I would be taking the strom (which doesn't handle mud too great at any speed to make headway..very tempting if that's the case to just suck it up and take the xt though). So unless you guys don't care about the 10mph ride in the rain following a beastly strom in the rain...... :lol2:. I believe Mica is in too..he just picked up a dr400.
send me you email address wia PM and I will send you the links to the maps and the corresponding google earth stuff in a day..

To be honest - even if the roads are dry but it has rained and MIGHT be Muddy - I won't take the dirt and fun roads out to Point of Rocks and go out thru Damascus - hit 80 to s85 hit 28 and come out the back way - especially if I am by myself. I am not exactly a morning person (not like Mdubya or anything). When I am out in that area I don't really have any contraints - so I don't want to get snagged and be late to POR before the ride even begins..

However, any routes you have in the area would be appreciated.. I haven't planned a return route yet, but it's my intent to hit these roads and some others on the way back..

Big Bend would require that we get several sites so Seneca Shadows Group Site looks like our best bet. Plus it has the all important SHOWER that our esteemed trip planner has requested. Tents must be pitched on the pads in all the campgrounds so if we don't do a group site we need to get multiple sites. However, there is no mention of how big the pads are. Lastly, the group sites permit the requisite number of vehicles and therefore minimize any discussions with The Man.

Shall I reserve it?

$60 for 5 pads... Just a question, but if we do 5 tents, and tents that can be carried via bike *typically one man tents (not two man or three, but one man...and one man only), and say 8 people go...that's gonna be $120, correct? Am soooooo good at math  Unless people wanna get close to stay warm :poser: Can't a ktm pull a pop-up camper? :kumbaya: :lol2:

Ken...when jason gets off his lazy ass and sends me the google routes he got so I can mock up the gps route, I'll do some searching as well for some options for camping. Am sure there is a state park which is relatively cheap camping and they typically have bath houses. One shower nozzle for a bunch of guys to stand under nekid like jason likes :harhar: I kid I kid, I tease I tease. Understandable..some people don't like the manly smell of sweat and dirt. :boohoo:

okay.. i'm done my poking :amazon: :lol2:
